A common question I ask in a first session is “What do you do for fun?” It is not intended as a clinical question in any way, but it does cause me to wonder when the couple says “Nothing”. It has bothered me that the rate of divorce among those who identify themselves as Christians is essentially the same, and in some research it is even higher than the national average. The trouble with this research is that the definition of a born again Christian is simple self identification. There is no determination of how active someone is in their faith life. As per a previous post, I have an interest in the marriage and family needs of those serving in the military. It’s nice to see that some of the preventative measures mentioned seem to be creating some stability.
